Night Noises

Wed, 08/21/2013 - 22:19 -- DaXue

Night noises make a cradle

Bundle you up in sounds

The crickets a pillow for your brimming head

The patter of rain a soundtrack for sweet dreams

Wind rustles the threads of air to weave a blanket,

Soft and warm.

Far softer and far warmer than the

harsh,

glaring

relentless day

That makes you squint up into the sun and bend low over unceasing toils

Designed purely to squeeze the soul out of you

So unburden yourself

And fall asleep to a symphony of forgiving noises,

A silence of of sounds.
