Night Cat

Step out into the night

The crisp air runs through your fur

Never present is the sunlight

Feline, your world is mine

Allow my being to mold with thine

You walk the line of strength and danger

Your whiskers stinging with cold

As the wind bears truth to be told

Pad on through the opacity

And you will find what your heart seeks

Helpless yet fierce your yowl speaks

It calls out my blackened name

Is something only I can hear

You've struggled to stay tame

As if you were to be blamed

You bared your claws at my savaged world

All around you our angry eyes swirled

Solemn cat, your world is mine

My being has molded with thine
