A New Kind of Girl

Lately I’ve been

looking in

 the mirror,

and seeing

this new girl

Staring back

 at me.

There’s

something

about her.

I can’t put

my finger on it.

I can see she’s

been kicked

down before.

And pushed past

the point of

breaking.

But she’s

waking up

from a long haze.

And,

She’s standing

up a bit taller.

And trying

smile more.

She’s

walking with a

strut now.

Ready

to be the light

in her own

Life.

I can see,

She’s learning

how to love

herself again.
