A New Beginning

Sat, 01/04/2014 - 20:23 -- Kaelyn

High in the clouds, I sit and I see,
so many deaths, right below me,
and then I feel the roll of thunder,
echoing this needless plunder.

There is no hope, no life, in their eyes,
as some beg the dead sun to rise.
In their hearts they know death is near,
and so they part, in silence, in fear.

Roll of thunder hides their screams
as they die in trenches by the streams.
Deams are shattered, and I feel
Those dying in pain, those killing with zeal.

Is there no way to end their mistakes?
Stop hearts of greed and words so fake?
But they come and join me, together we cry,
still as stone as we watch my children die.

They are my mistake, they are my pain
They cause their own destruction, so many  are slain,
The world is dark, it's time for their eyes to close,
Dawn is not blood red, it is the pink of a rose.
