I'm hoping, praying,

asking every piece of sky, every

wispy cloud, every floor tile, ceiling light, window pane,

every water molecule in every

plastic water bottle, every ocean, every speck,

every grain of soil, every petal, every leaf, needle,

bud on every tree, flower, bush

every and every and every single thing I cross

that you're not like the rest of them,

like static almost.

that you are this never-ending stream, this

cosmic stream of someday is today

and you won't leave me behind like

a black river rock, too smooth

from erosion, cold and stiff, silent screaming

neglected.
