Netherland

Each night, when no one is listening

Angels come from far and near

A look upon the surface will show eyes glistening

As their hurried paste signaled fear,

Or maybe lonesome, as some might say

Because they wandered into the forest

Acting as if they were a florist

To wish for death as if I, the poplar tree, was their day.

Broken hearts, upside down smiles crowd all around

Before starting their final words,"I thee wed"

Bound fully ready to make the trip uptown

Because sometimes things are better left unsaid

Some wish for a better tomorrow

As they close their eyes and go to sleep

Hoping to do away with all their sorrows

Fore-claiming that no one,no where will weep.

The poplar tree takes you to Netherland

Like the perfect frozen picture

A read upon the scripture

To reveal a place where you can do whatever you can

Broken hearts, upside down smiles crowd all around

Before stating the final words,"I thee wed"

Bound fully ready to make the trip uptown

Because sometimes things are better left unsaid

Despite all the sadness

Now it's time to turn the final page

To surpass all the madness

And leave behind the rage

Come, where danger can no longer harm

Dim the light and turn up the night

Because you, my friend, no longer have to fight

For I am here for all. To farm

Broken hearts, upside down smiles crowd all around

Before stating their final words, "I thee wed"

Bound fully ready to make the trip uptown

Because sometimes things are better left unsaid.
