Necessary Struggle?

Swing the Axe, Swing the Hammer, Swing the Sickle

First then last, then dumped so fast

Stood up but not awake

Walkin' around by night in murkey light

On cracked sidewalks, and wondering

His and Hers, their dreams are dead

So they get up and trudge to work, then to bed

And they can't get it wrapped around their head

Where did they go wrong?

Their Dreams were infinite, but now are like a sea

Washed up and filled with "refuse"

Sightless, voiceless, empty conveniences

First then last, then dumped so fast

Swing the Axe, Swing the Hammer, Swing the Sickle
