national anthem

in the land of the free

and the home of the brave -

with a hint of "what's in it for me?"

you see - here in a country who is proud of their freedom

everything comes with a price.

congrats you are blessed with free education!

where you may find yourself in a battlefield of anxiety, depression and bullying

you have the freedom of speech!

until you are verbally attacked by those who simply do not agree with you

where our president is a huge example of hatred -

only laying the foundation of racism, sexism, and every -ism we may come to know

we are supposed to help those in need

but Syria is only feeling the wrath of the man who wants to make us "great again"

but we would be great

if there were less

violence

hate

war

crime

bullying

depression

suicide

so lets pretend that our country is still  the place to be

in the land of the free

and the home of brave.
