A Nation United

United we stand, divided we fall

Are we a melting pot of unity or a nation of individuality?

Ask many today and the consensus runs that tolerance and acceptance

Is our nation’s lasting values

What’s good for you is fine for you as long as you do not bother me

But looking back 200 years we see that was not always so

One solid nation under God was the motto we lived by

A common purpose to grow together and build a powerful nation of strength and freedom

As the years progressed and our country grew we have slipped from that original goal

Instead of gaining strength we have gained dependence

Foreign trade, foreign oil, foreign labor, government handouts, insurmountable debt

How can we look ourselves in the mirror and be proud of our reflection

But this is not the end and it is far from hopeless

For the strength that our nation was built on still runs strong through the generations

We cannot lose sight of who we are and where we came from

Self-reliance, hard work, morality and community are the sources of our strength

Together we will prove to the world that we know the truth that

Only united we can stand, and stand we will
