I live in a world
Where silence is the loudest voice
An immense expanse of nothing
That is filled with everything
My Senses are heightened to extreme limits
Colors are more vivid than any rainbow in paradise
Taste buds exploding with each new twist of flavor
Feather light touches leave a tingling path

I live in a world
Where communication is art
Each stroke delivers a hidden message
My fingers find their way through the air
Gliding and soaring into meaningful shapes
Motions filled with compassion and stories

I live in a world
Where our culture and ways are in danger
Many do not understand nor want to
They think they can rid the universe of us
Abolish our language and history
I wish for them to see the beauty in it though
That we can all sail together
These things may not mean much to strangers
But to those who know
To those who want to know
And to those that will know
This is the world I live in
