My Words are My Windows

When I have much to say , but no one will hear.

Or I bite my tongue, out of reasonable fear.

Or I want to scream or shed a tear,

I write because my words are safe here.

I write because there is no one to criticize,

words to be read only by my own eyes.

No one can tell me what to say,

the only time I ever have it my way.

I can say what I think and write how i feel.

It is here that reality truly seems real.

I write because its words from the heart, a window to my soul.

Of my story, I can tell every part, and I can truly feel whole.

My words are my windows to places I desire to go,

they open me up to possibilities that I truly wish to know.

My words are limitless and strong, they are truly a part of me.

The words I write as a poet allow me to be free.
