My Voice

I wonder when i’ll be ready to share my voice

And I wonder who will listen.

Whose ears will my words reach?

Whose scars will they scrape?

When I finally have the confidence to unravel my tongue,

Will it heal, or will it cut?

Will my audience relate, or will my truth wash over them,

As meaningless as if it had never been spoken.

Sometimes I contemplate whether its me whos not ready to speak, or the world that not ready to hear me.

There's a lot I hold in this heart of mine,

And a lot unsaid in my chained up mind,

I suppose it should all be spoken when the time is right.
