My Voice

Speak up child, speak up, but they could never hear me

Low and subtle, soft and lost

Where would it go when I needed it

My voice, my voice

Filling up with aggravation

Thundering, roaring at the world but not powerful enough

Hiding in fear, cowering

My voice, my voice

My thoughts spill out, I shout, piercing the world

Getting louder, and louder, and louder, they can hear me now

But still not loud enough, slowly sinking back

Talked over, I start to speak but nothing gets out

My voice, my voice

Never to be heard again
