My Version of a Heartbroken Love song

My hands are soft

But don’t judge me by my hands

Because if written words could callous hands

Mine definitely would

What a wonderful world?

Can you open up your eyes?

Have you heard the unrequited cries

Of all of the mothers in Zimbabwe?

So this is my version of a heartbroken love song

Because I feel the pain of my family

Of the ones forgotten for so long

Related only in their humanity

And you cannot see my scars

Because they are not on my skin

They lie unhealed on my heart

Until the pain of this world ends
