My Realization

Look into my eyes

tell me what you see.

They tell you about me

but what will you believe.

My smile

hides my pain,

the lies do the same,

my head is kept high,

even through the rain.

No i'm not perfect,

and i probably never will be.

I guess that's the reason,

your a shamed of me.

Sometimes i feel stressed,

but i know that im blessed.

It sort of feels like,

theres an S on my chest.

Nine months in,

my mother was in pain.

knowing it was a sin,

you gave it a name.

Through trials and tribulations

I kept my faith,

knowing one day,

ill hear you say,

"son i love"

but that day never came.

But needless to say,

my smile hides my pain,

and all i want to say is,

thanks dad for being away,

Cause the ambition in my ways,

and the calmness on my face,

makes me realize,

it was meant to be this way.
