my own

Location

When I was 4,

I wanted to be a princess.

When I was 10,

My heart craved the moon and the stars.

When I was 12,

I wanted to save lives and be a hero wearing

those funny scrubs and fixing battle scars.

But when I was 14,

I played my first guiar and wrote my first song

and was drawn to a destiny I could never fulfill.

Now that I am 17,

They say success is built on money and money is built on jobs,

so they told me to put my passion to rest and be a smart kid.

At 17,

I need to be a doctor,

Because musicians live on the streets and doctors lie in silky sheets.

But when I'm 21,

I'll graduate collge.

At 28,

I'll be live in my own home.

And at 30,

I'll be writing music or publishing books or saving lives

Or

doing whatever it is that makes me happy

Because

one day I'll learn that success isn't about making money,

It's about making life your own.
