My Mother

From birth, you were it.

My everything, Who I looked up to.

Then you met him.

You changed so quickly.

We hadn't seen it coming.

My normal childhood.

Everything I knew.

Gone. Gone. Gone.

In the blink of an eye.

Who are you?

Where did you go?

Meth. Pills. Alcohol.

Took you over.

Now you're not mommy.

You're just my mother.

This empty shell.

Of someone I once looked up to.

This empty shell.

Of someone I once clung to.

This empty shell.

Of who you once were.

When will my mommy come back?

I Miss Her.
