My Lullaby

In the fading light

I look on as sleep you fight

But you can't resist

Sleeps sweet kiss

To say I wasn't sad would be a lie

But still I sang your lullaby

I can't imagine what you see

When you look at me

Can you smell it on my breath

As it ever so slowly causes my death

Its taking me away from you

Oh God I hope it doesn't kill you too.

I tell myself again,

Tonight I won't fall to this sin

But I still take the drink

Taking me a step closer to the voids brink.

How can I live now

When I can't help but bow

To my own temptation

Like so many in this nation

The war goes on inside

 Even myself I can't abide.

As I hold the knife

I hope that you have a happy life.

Good Bye
