For My Love

This past year is what I'll cherish,

Though many months we've spent parted,

The bad memories won't be relished,

But will stand as remembrance of trials we've darted.

Even with being watched and guarded,

You make me feel free,

And though, those around seem cold-hearted,

They only want what's best for me.

Continue to look to the moon,

Know I'll be looking too,

Feel the heat of noon,

And see it as my heart's cue.

But even with the distance that parts us,

Remember, only in you, does my heart trust.
