My Life

As a child growing up, my mom taught me right from wrong.
As a child growing up, I learn that I had to be strong.
As a child growing up, I learned that there was a difference from light and dark.

Now as a teenager, I see that doing the right thing is important.
Now as a teenager, I see that trying hard is on going.
Now as a teenager, I see that God will provide.
Now as a teenager, I see that my mom was right.

Life was hard for me.
No matter where I turned, there was a different face I would see.
All telling me who to be
However, I see the world so differently.

God please provide the right light for me.
So many people can see the change in me
I want to run and play with no worries
I want to have fun and not be in a hurry

Please end what others want me to be
Please let them accept me for who you want me to be
My life can be pulled by so many strings
I just want my life to be for me.
