My Inspiration

Appreciate the front row parking spots,

inhale the smells of each plant.

Run your fingers along a smooth sheet of paper,

feel the soap foam between your hands.

Listen to the FM radio,

enjoy each word you speak.

Fill up cardboard boxes to send those you love,

fill yourself with emotions from mighty to meek.

Watch the carpet rise behind your footsteps,

watch the sun rise behind the clouds.

Put a sticker on something new,

look to the shoes on the feet of the crowd.

Make micro velour your new skin,

while a fortune cookie tells what kind of week you're in.

Read this poem on a laptop,

and in the other tab, listen to 'top pop.'

Whatever makes you smile, whatever makes your day,

find insipration everywhere, no matter what gets in your way.

Feel the textured shower floor beneath your feet,

designed to keep you from falling.
