My Heroes are Horses

Without you I feel broke,

Like I'm half of a whole

Without you, I feel lost Like a ship in a storm

You are a part of me

You run through my veins

From you I learned patience I've learned that no matter how hard you hit the dirt,

You get right back up and try again

I've learned about a bond stronger than the universe

You have taught me an intricate dance that stole my heart the moment our eyes met

Without you, I wouldn't be who I am today, and for that I thank you

Without you, I would still be the scared little girl with no voice

You gave me the wings I never knew I had, and the courage to take that leap

You may have four legs, but that doesn't make you any less of a hero

Thank you, to all the horses who made me who I am now
