My Hero

My hero doesn’t wear tights

Just an old T-shirt

She doesn’t fight in battles

But she holds me when I’m hurt

We laugh at our mistakes

And the messes that we make

She teaches me to laugh

And tried to teach me to bake

My hero cannot fly

But I’ve never seen her cry

I know all of her friends

Though she knows that I am shy

She’s who I strive to be

In the life that I live

Though I fear she may leave

Her time she’ll always give

My hero is a lady

I hold close to my heart

Though I’m growing up

We will never really be apart

She has always been there

When people would push or shove

Because she is my Yaya

And she is someone I love
