My Heart

Words spoken never properly left my lipsFeelings were missing The meaning was never quite the sameAs the streams of colors swirling through my brainWords came out tasteless and gray. Then i injected ink into every syllableNot out of pride but desperation.Desperation to spill outNameless emotionsTo remember To forget; With each new page, endless life flowedWith starry nights, tears cried And endless sunrisesOf cowboy boots and horses wildly roaming.Of concrete jungles and fast paced cars.Of foreign lands and wanderlustOf newly found, eternal love.Of earthly wonder and magicOf heaven’s reign over the sea. With each word I began to write, I felt completeI was a new personI could conquer the worldAnd as I looked back, years later, I found each word to ring throughNow with meaning, color, and purposeEach poem a beautiful songA colorful enigmaA life, well lived. My heart, in words, I found.
