My Father
Your hand were much bigger than mine
in my first memory of you grasping them.
My hands weren't even as big as your palm.
You had a laugh that still rattles my insides.
I think of it when I feel alone.
You showed me how a woman should be treated,
By treating mom like a goddess.
I placed all of my trust in you, not knowing what the outcome could be.
Yet, you never failed me.
When I was scared of life's changes,
You reminded me that I could overcome them.
As my hand has grown in comparison of your's,
You still hold it.
As if it is still the tiny one you held so long ago.
You are my rock.
You are my driving force.
You are the reason I pursue my dreams.
You are my father. I thank the universe everyday for blessing me
With you!
My father, the man who taught me to fly.
