My Dreams Rise With Me

Tomorrow is not just another day.

It’s an opportunity,

A chance;

The potential for greatness lies in the word: Tomorrow.

But I lay in my bed TODAY.

Today is a day,

Today is the day.

Happiness is on the way.

Here it comes.

And there it went.

Another five minutes that I could have been

Dreaming

But now I know what they are

I understand what they mean,

And that’s all I’ll ever need.

But

Now I’m too deep in it

I’ve been working too hard

Stretched every limit

And it won’t be enough.

For anyone but me.

I’m something more,

I have something to wake up for

My dreams.

They’re calling,

Beckoning,

Cheering me on.

I’m pushing,

Grinding,

Failure had to be wrong.

There’s no contest

If it’s ME versus the rest,

Better isn’t half of the best.

It comes from deep in the chest

It’s all in the heart

I knew all along where to start,

I just had to play the part

When my dreams started falling apart.

Wake up.

No more pieces.

I am whole.

I have no more regrets

Nothing anyone needs to console.

My power replenished

My faith restored

Nothing more needs to be said,

Too many dreams wait

to be explored.
