My Body is for Everyone but Me

Sit up straight.

Wear something pretty.

Don't be such a tomboy.

Act like a lady.

Act.

It has always been an act.

The dresses, the bows, the Barbies, that's just not me.

That's what they want me to be.

Nevermore will I succumb to their ideal version of me.
