I hate when we're silent
when we're quiet
when we're shy
when we hide our feelings and thoughts and act like we don't know each other
Blowing the other off
even for time
even for a moment
It's quick and shouldn't mean that much
But it does
It means the end is near and we're preparing
for the distance
for the silence
For the reunions when we talk about ourselves because We are just a memory
And while some are sweet
And some are lovely
This one is sad and scared
Scared of that reunion and the silence it demands
And it makes me scared
scared to lose you
scared that this moment will last more than a minute and make it permanent
Because I'll forget what you wear
I'll forget what you say
I'll forget what you do
But I will never forget the feeling of your silence
and the memory of We
