Must You?

Must you be like this?

Always running through my head,

Faster and faster till it’s all that’s there.

I try to stop,

To think of other things.

But no.

It’s always you.

Just you.

Must you?

Your stupid blue eyes are all I see as I try and shake the memories out of my mind.

Why? Just tell me why?

Explain how the mere mention of your name makes my eyelashes flutter.

Or how the brush of your hand as you pass by makes the hairs on my arm stand straight.

Or how I dream of how your touch would feel every night.

Always on replay.

Never ceasing.

Must you?

I daydream of you in those shirts

The ones that show your arms.

They’re the cause of my derailment from reality.

But you know that.

You have to know that.

It’s so obvious-my attraction to you.

But it’s as if you purposefully ignore it.

Must you always hurt me?

Must you?
