Muse

Location

You had me at first glance

You gave me more than just a chance

You lit a fire in me that I can never defuse

You are the artist that became my muse

A love letter turned to cross country road trips and plane rides

Then you moved across the world to a different city with different strides

The distance was never too deep, because it was you that I wanted to keep

Even though at different times we wake and sleep

You began to pull away and I tried to hold on tighter

But for me it was obvious you weren’t a fighter

Someone new, more talented and interesting

I cant blame you, but it sure as hell does burn and sting

I told my friends it didn’t hurt

I distracted myself by going to a concert

Temporary

Out of your hair faded our reds and blues

It’s no secret that I was no longer your muse
