Like Moths to Flames

i'm drawn to you

like a moth to a flame,

your beautiful face

a deadly spark

for a little nothing

such as myself.

i feel your warmth

coursing through my veins,

resonating in my bones,

resting in my lungs,

constricting my breathing.

it doesn't matter much,

for you are my reason to breathe,

but i really do wish

you'd stay out of my anatomy

if just for the evening.

after all,

fire may be good for heat,

but getting too close to a flame

has proven to be dangerous,

and i've had enough danger

to last a lifetime

simply by falling

for you.
