Mortality

We come to each other

In times of crisis

No longer aiming to be righteous

But invite us

To cry and try

And make it through these tragic times

Death and breath

Seem the same

With each step

closer to ghost

As we boast

How we have the most

Rhymes

Or designer

Clothes

We hold each other close

To these rules

Wearing gaudy fancy jewels

As proof

That the limit ain't the roof

That's only when our drive goes poof

Because no matter how strong

A heart ain't bullet proof.
