Mortality
This journey home didn't go quite as planned.
All I sought out for was a second chance,
Carefree youth I remember vividly.
Summer's over seems it's only a dream.
The wind howled me far away from loved ones,
Now I'm here missing the glittering sun.
Metal clanking in an endless workshop.
Days in and out, age slipping, doesn't stop.
I'm still young, but feel this mortality.
When in the motions of an empty beat.
We sense timeline in a funny matter.
Life to the fullest is what we're after.
At this moment everything appears bleak,
But throughout life I shall constantly seek
The way sunlight gleams off translucent glass.
The future is how I'll look at my past.
