More Than Just a Book

Stranded and alone

Nothing to do but look

But I do have one thing

A nice big book

Adventures galore

Oh what this book has in store

Until something new

Washes up on shore

Yes! I have overcome this great feat

Page after page, this book gives me heat

The burning of the paper

How it hurts my small heart

But it does a big part in scaring off sharks

Afraid and alone

Nothing but the ocean mist

Oh but I do have one friend

Named Oliver Twist

Some may say that Twist isn’t real

But he surely gave me the courage to fetch last night’s meal

So alone with one item, this giant book

But it has so many uses

Won’t you please take a look
