You'd never guess the things I hide

the thoughts that haunt my mind

Yes there's a monster deep inside

I feel it's darkness grip my throat 

like the hand of a full grown adult 

as I begin to choke 

the kids in back laugh and crack a joke

But they do not see what I see

This Darkness

consumes me entirely

The monster inside me

is called anxiety 

foreshadowing failure in my ears

constantly reminding me of all my doubts

and all of my fears 

insidious apprehension 

suduces my attention 

distracted by it's thoughts in my head

I'm forced to hear them again and again 

Misery inside me 

a distorted perception of reality 

everything that you cannot see 

it lives 

it breathes 

inside me

The misery I hide deep inside

the monster also known as 

anxiety.
