Monserous Me

I am a composite monster

My Grandmother’s eyes

Father’s nose

Mother’s ears

Medusa and mermaid am I

A snake’s legs

Fish’s feet

Cat’s wings

I steal from those that I’ve met

My friend’s smile

Barista’s laugh

Stranger’s style

I am those who came before

A warrior’s defeat

Queen’s power

Leper’s feet

Even the first woman was from

The river’s wit

Forest’s calm

Desert’s hit

Nature copied those that she saw

The moon’s face

Star’s lips

Light’s grace

Darkness was taught not by these but

By void’s stare

Emptiness’s soul

Eternity’s glare

Monstrous me made of this and more

Monstrous me from head to the floor
