Monochrome Selfie

Hand me the colored pencils.

I can't tell what shade of yellow

Your happy is

Or, what shade of red

Your angry is

Just by squinting at a selfie.

You see, I'm nearly blind.

I'm a nearly blind cartoonist.

How am I supposed to draw you?

I don't know how far up your face your cheekbones are.

Or how sharp they are.

Or how curvy or short your body is.

Or how thin or thick your body is.

Voices are my references

They feel so soft.

How biting your touch is.

Are you cold? I'll draw you blue.

Are you friendly? I'll draw you warm: red, orange.

I cannot tell who you are by your selfie. That isn't you.

You are just the impression of your voice and emotions

On a blind woman in love with colors.
