Money Doesn't Buy Contentment
Location
Waking from a slumber filled with dreams
Dressing in expensive things
Taking notice to only her flaws
Covering them so she is not raw
Thinking solely of propriety
She's lost touch with reality
She resides in a land where status is key
To hell with individuality
Who needs it anyway?
When anything she wanted was hers all she did was pay
But it didn't matter what she said,
The truth hid in her dreams that lie in her bed,
The only time she could escape was in her sleep
From the shallow world she would leap
The dream land was were she longed to be
She liked the things she could buy, but they didn't make her happy.
She wrapped herself in a blanket of gold
But it did not protect her from the cold.
