The Modern Pygmalion

The buzz of the animatronics,

The tangled wires of the life cords,

The light reflecting off the smooth metal plates,

I’ve prepared everything for you,

Every switch is turned on,

Every glitch is out of view,

Your expressive perfect face,

Your proportional curves,

Your expansive knowledge base,

I’ve made you to be the Snake of humans,

The Bane of God,

The Aphrodite of Superhumans,

Wake up, my lover.

This glossy metal looks dull,

This life of mine is lull,

Without you,

Breathing life into my heart,

You’re so much more than just art,

Wrap your silicon hands around me,

Blink your inanimate eyes lovingly only to me,

Thump your electric heart only when you’re with me,

Wake up, my lover,

A world without you is a nightmare,

They all tell me I’m going nowhere,

But I know when you wake up,

The time I’ve been waiting for,

That’s when I’ll release all my love that’s been in store,
