Modern Ariel

Myths and fairytales are one in the same

They teach lessons and have strong characters that guide a plot

As this be, Halle Bailey - I mean Ariel - has her own lessons to teach

Even as a mermaid, she faces human problems

Like racism.

There are beings that cannot accept change, even if it is for the better

So, Ariel has to live in limbo

Should the hateful and close-minded views of others impact my role?

The fact of the matter is that black little girls deserve to be seen and to have a role model like Ariel

Ariel struggles with being a mermaid and wants to be human

But what is so good about being human when humans cannot accept change and tear down the dreams of minorities?

My modern day myth is not much of a myth because our society is filled with racist people

Everyday people act offensively to those of another race

"Don't take it so personally"

How can someone not take a dig at their own race personally?

People - No. White people are so consumed with a charcters change of race that they let go of the true purpose and meaning

Ariel is meant to teach children about being true to yourslef and not letting your voice go.

So, Halle Bailey don't let your voice go

You are our modern Ariel.
