Mistress

Sun, 12/30/2018 - 16:31 -- mkipp0

The night is as painful as the morning

the silence cries out where noise fades

joints turn to lead,

muscles dissolve into acid

What monster are you?

Dreams are stolen by clawed hands

dragging away what was supposed to be my escape

replaced with needles, knives, and hammers

What demon conceived you?

There is no beat no melody to your madness

all you bring is pain

You cause my friends their worry

I fight for freedom in vain

In these times I think of God the most

does he watch me now?

Is my pain his doing,

Is this suffering my thorned crown?

What angel cast you off to me?

My lungs fill with fire

My eyes swell with smoke

acid boils away in my core

There is no energy left to spare,

Tell me, mistress, why you torture me

I thought I made myself clear

I need not your presence in my mind

To know that you still remain near.
