Mister Missus

You taught me how to conjugate verbs in five languages

You showed me how to find the zeroes in a quadratic equation

Oh, I know what you're thinking

I got it all figured out

I got those straight A's rolling out

On painfully crisp report cards

Dear Mister Missus

When will I learn how to say no to a man?

When will I learn how to balance my checks?

I got those straight A's rolling out

But I'm going no where soon

You taught me who the first twenty presidents were

You showed me which elements make what compounds

Oh, I know what you're thinking

I got it all figured out

I got those applications written out

With your mechanical traps called pens

Dear Mister Missus

When will I learn how to cook for one?

When will I learn how to hold it all in?

I got those applications written out

But I'm going no where soon

I want to learn how to tell my story

I want to show you what I'm capable of

Oh, I know what you're thinking

I got it all figured out

But I don't

I'm lost in this maze you put around me

The teacher doesn't know how to teach the student to learn

Dear Mister Missus

When will I learn how to voice my thoughts?

When will I learn how to teach you something new?

I'm lost, but so are you

And we're going no where soon
