Misery

Some days I wonder what we stood for.

You, the voice that spoke instead of me;

I was forced to flee, my feelings sore.

Depressed by how it had been before

The light faded from our youthful eyes

Some days I wondered what we stood for.

Convinced I had to bring forth much more

I became just like you, just a shell.

I was forced to flee, my feelings sore.

We smiled, but shook down at the core

We laughed, but you were never happy

Some days I wonder what we stood for.

You wanted us to be friends--you swore

But failed to see your effects on me

I was forced to flee, my feelings sore.

Each day you asked me for help you tore

A hole in my chest I could not fix

Some days I wonder what we stood for.

I was forced to flee, my feelings sore.
