Mirrors and Galaxies Are the Same
Mirrors,
They reflect.
They reflect on the natural appearance of being human, being real,
Of being alive, of being loved.
Sometimes they show us what we don’t like to see.
Hatred, betrayal, the beat with no melody.
On other occasions we see what we know, what
We need, what we hope to accomplish.
A great job, a family, a lover, a life.
But they only show ‘me’.
Galaxies.
They rotate.
They rotate in the same circular demand of their commander, their God,
Like a top on an invisible table.
Sometimes they show us what we don’t want to see.
Darkness, burning souls, loopholes to our creation.
On other occasions we see what we want to know, what
We need, what we hope to accomplish.
New life beyond our own humanities, a new home, exploration.
What do they have in common?
They see our distant past and our changing future.
