Mirrors

I can see you

But all you see is yourself

This one sided mirror has a power

Power is something that can be given

Something that you have given

Something that I have given

To you

I keep up appearances

I hide my reality

As long as no one knows

The cracks and flaws are easy to hide

Hiding got easier

Smiling became neccessary

Like a reflex

Not a choice

I start to see myself

The mirror creeps into my line of vision

My smile seems tired

My eyes do not sparkle

I start to notice

Yours never did either

You never cracked a smile

Maybe life on the other side of the mirror

Is harder than it seemed

Now it's clear

The mirror must be broken

My strength isn't enough

Neither is yours

But together

We have a chance
