Mirrors

I wish
Just once
I could look in the mirror
And not
Want
To
Scream.

All I ever see
Is that thing in the mirror
That everyone says
Is me.

I only see
My
Ugly
Face.

Once,
Just once,
I want to look
And not want to break
The mirror
In front of me.

Once,
Just once,
I want to
Not take joy
In the idea of the broken shards
Scattered on the floor.

Once,
Just once,
I want to see

Beauty.
