Mirror

Dear Mirror,

I remember a time that I looked upon your face and saw your smile

Your hair was done in two small pleats and bounced all the while

I remember a time when I ignored you, not wanting to look at imperfect features

I was afraid of what truths you would tell and so I looked away from that creature

I remember a time when I looked at your eyes, they blazed with renewed strength

I knew then that I could learn to trust you again, it would just take time, at length

I remember thinking that over time you would change and I was right

You did, but so did I

Your Reflection, Gina N
