O, Father you are a great planter

You’ve planted my seed in this island

and watched me grow into a tree

Untouched I was, and rooted down

Not one thing could taint me

You say I am one rich, good gift

Yet, when my love wants to carry me

off, He struggles to lift me away

You are the one who’s tainted my love

Twas innocent like a new bud bloom

But you picked and played with your fingers

You could not keep your hands impassive

You’ve tainted and painted my life

green. Made me a poppy lulled by thee
