Midnight Words

Hush my child do not cry

The sun goes down, but the moon is high

The water calms and the frogs peep

It is now time to go to sleep

The owl wakes and starts to fly

A million stars light up the sky

I hold your head and stroke your hair

I wrap you up in a quilt with care

You close your eyes and begin to dream

I can hear the sound of a distant stream

The world is still, there's barely a sound

I thought I was lost, but now I'm found

This is my home and where I belong

The silent stream plays a perfect song

The leaves rustle as the wind blows through

I'm just glad, I'm here with you.
