Midnight Reflections

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 14:04 -- A Finch

Gaze up at night, what do you see?

A peaceful sky or a deep dark sea?

An ocean stream of drops so bright

Or just an ordinary starry night?

My eyes desert the ground below

Just to know how far space goes.

I long to sail that sea so deep

When everyone else longs for sleep.

The stars kiss the ocean

Just beyond the horizon.

Once I went there in a dream

To see the ocean softly gleam.

That dream ended with the dawn.

Although that sky is forever gone

Another soon will fill its place

And I’ll dream again of space.
